007 Ford Thunderbird (1/1)

Notes

In 2003, Ford Motor Company, Limited, created 700 limited edition "007'' Ford Thunderbirds to commemorate the first appearance of a Thunderbird in the 40-year history of the James Bond film franchise. The Thunderbird made it's debut into James Bond history when driven by, the Academy Award-winning actress, Halle Berry in the 2002 film Die Another Day.

View the film footage here.

The 007 edition has a unique white leather interior and a distinctive Coral paint scheme created to match the Thunderbird driven in the film. The Coral paint, similar to the Sunset Coral hue offered on the 1956 Thunderbird, also matched the bikini Halle Berry wore in her role as Jinx.

"For the 007 Thunderbird, we knew we needed to develop a vehicle that would fit Halle Berry's character of Jinx and generate buzz for the dealers and enthusiasts. The 007 Thunderbird carries the James Bond mystique throughout its exterior and interior, creating an exclusive package fitting for any James Bond fan." - Peter Jansen, Thunderbird brand manager at Ford of Canada.

This car, number 1 from the edition of 700, is being sold by James Bond producer Michael G Wilson, with the proceeds being donated to the Pioneers Assistance Fund.

Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli of EON Productions are producers of the James Bond films. Wilson joined EON Productions in a legal-administrative capacity in 1972 and was later named assistant to the producer on The Spy Who Loved Me. He became executive producer on Moonraker and continued with that credit on the following two films. He co-wrote For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View To A KillThe Living Daylights and Licence To Kill. He became producer with his step-father Albert R. Broccoli on A View To A Kill continuing with The Living Daylights and Licence To Kill. Wilson is chairman of EON Productions.

Wilson and Broccoli produced the hugely successful GoldenEye together, followed by the next eight Bond films: Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Casino Royale, Quantum Of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre and No Time To Die.

Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are Directors of the Dana and Albert R Broccoli Foundation and are co-founders of the London Screen Academy (LSA) for which Broccoli also serves as a Governor, and Wilson is the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, Day One Trust.

In 2008, Broccoli and Wilson were appointed Officers of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), in 2013, they received the BAFTA Award for Outstanding British Film for Skyfall and in 2014 they were honoured by the Producers Guild of America with the David O. Selznick Achievement Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures.  In 2022, they were appointed Commanders of the Order of the British Empire for services to film, drama, philanthropy and skills (CBE) and in June 2022 they were awarded BFI Fellowships, the highest honour bestowed by the BFI.

The Thunderbird will be on view at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles on Wednesday 21st September at a dinner honouring Michael G Wilson & Barbara Broccoli.
