Statement about AOAP submitted artwork

The work I submitted, contains elements of my practice that I am currently exploring, capturing time through the oxidisation of the gold leaf on select postcards as well as a small study of an old photograph. The gold-leaf acts as a metaphor for  the ageing process, on the face of the figure to represent that at the present moment they are no longer a child. Another contains a study of a plant that I own which although my relationships with people falter , continues to stay with me as my practice grows. I have yet to continue to practice making smaller studies, these pieces were quite challenging to think about but I hope my practice was able to be reflected on each postcard.
