The exhibition is open 11-13 September, 9.00 am – 7.00 pm. On 13 September, there is a 'Drinks and Ice cream' reception at 6.00 pm and then the auction begins at 7.00 pm.
The venue is Hoxton Arches, 402 Cremer St, London E2 8HD. The exhibition, auction and reception are all open to the public, but if you are going to bid you need to register beforehand. You can do this now here.
Viet Hoa, a delicious Vietnamese restaurant with a 'barbecue your own’ option for the adventurous diners, are kindly offering an all day 15% discount on food and drink to The Auction Collective. To get the discount is simple, just tell them that you are going to the Sea-Fever event.
They are just round the corner from the gallery (70-72 Kingsland Rd, London E2 8DP ) and the discount applies all day so you can enjoy it: when dropping by at lunchtime, grabbing something to eat before the drinks, or heading out after the auction to celebrate your new art purchases.
You can check out their delicious menu here!
Drinks and Ice Cream
To get you in the seaside mood at the gallery, we will be serving Jude’s Ice Cream to the first 120 guests. Their ice cream is mouth wateringly good so we hope you can get there on time!
We will also be serving Dà Mhìle Seaweed Gin in a Seaweed gin & Fever Tree tonic special. Seaweed (Gin) and Fever Tree (Tonic). Sea. Fever. Sea-Fever. You see what we did there??
This Welsh gin is made with a hand selected variant of botanicals added to Dà Mhìle small batch gin. It is infused with handpicked seaweed from the Celtic coast for three weeks, giving it a lovely light green hue before being triple filtered and bottled.
For a gin free alternative, Dorset Tea are providing us with soft drinks from their refreshing iced tea recipes. They will also be providing their delightfully smooth Sunshine Tea for those who come and visit the exhibition during the day. We are so art-tea.
Then if you are keen for a nightcap, or want to celebrate your auction success, The Jaguar Shoes Collective are putting on a special sea-themed cocktail for the night at their DreamBags JaguarShoes bar just down the road from the gallery (32-36 Kingsland Rd, London E2 8DA).
When you are there, you can also sign up as a member to receive 15% off all other food and drink!
Getting There & Getting Away
There is a map at the end of this page with the locations of the restaurant, bar and train stations but here are some extra details in case it helps.
The address for the gallery is: Hoxton Arches, 402 Cremer St, London E2 8H. It is next to Hoxton Station.
Underground and Overground:
As the gallery is right next to Hoxton Overground Station, if you are travelling by tube from central London it is probably best to take the district line to Whitechapel, or the Victoria line to Highbury and Islington, then change onto the Overground there. It is only 30 mins from central London.
The nearest tube is Old Street Station which is a 14-minute walk to the gallery.
The 26, 48, 55, 67, 149, 242, 243 and 394 all stop near Hoxton Station. The bus routes can be found here.
There are plenty of safe places to lockup bicycles around the gallery and there is also a Santander Cycle docking station. It just might be tricky to take your artwork home on a bike...
Car & Motorbike:
The nearest car park is on Shoreditch High Street, a 17 minute walk and a £5 charge for two hours. But there are a few side streets with free parking including Appleby Street and Hoxton Street. Have a look at Parkopedia for more information.
Boat, Ship and Pedalo:
For those really hardcore sea-themed fans who want to arrive in style, the nearest marina is St Katharine Dock Marina. It is then a 42 minute walk in your sailor's outfit to the gallery. You are probably best just taking the bus.
We hope you enjoy the night!
