The auction was supported by a pop-up exhibition in London’s Soho.

During Frieze week 2017, Wakefield had a one woman, one night only show of hand drawn found objects at the Groucho club in Londons Soho. The exhibition was about seeing the beauty in ordinary objects, toying with image and wordplay.

Wakefield has been in a number of group shows and fairs such as Art Below and British Art Weekend in November 2017, a tightly concentrated selection of art made by British artists, or artists working in Britain from the 1960’s to the present day. The selection consists of around fifty museum quality works on paper and editions, paintings, photography and sculpture by some of the most iconic and respected names in modern and contemporary art, alongside artists such as Sir Peter Blake. In 2019, 46 artists are putting their work on the line charity as part of a bold exhibition entitled FaceValue3 (DIRTY WORK). Half of the artists have donated artwork, while the other half will be manipulating these pieces. The creations will be on show from 18th April and then auctioned off by the gallery. All proceeds will go to the Katie Piper foundation, which aims to make it easier for people living with burns and scars. Wakefield donated a piece to this exhibition and her piece was worked on by Dave Bounaguidi. Some other artists include, Charming baker, Rankin, Hayden Kays, Ronnie Wood, The Connor Brothers and Gary Hume. Wakefield and Bounaguidi then went on to do their own collaboration which is available at Jealous Gallery.

Wakefield has been commissioned to illustrate Mark Hix's new anecdotal cook book, 'Hooked'. The book launch will coincide with an exhibition of all the drawings at HixArt, Shoreditch, in June 2019.

Please do not bid on artwork in our Art on a Postcard auctions if you intend on selling the artwork after you have purchased it. This auction has been organised for charity and all artworks have been generously donated by the artists to raise money for the Hepatitis C Trust. When the work produced for the charity is sold on the secondary market it damages our relationship with the artist and prevents us from fundraising.
