About 

 

In 2008 Ghislaine was named as a ‘Woman of the Year’ for her contribution to art and society. Her work ranges from the intimate and the domestic through to the public and the political. She is currently collaborating with the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce who have given her four rooms in their magnificent Victorian headquarters in central Manchester as a permanent home for her work. Ghislaine has exhibited widely in numerous prestigious venues including Manchester Art Gallery, British Museum, Wellcome Foundation, the Foundling Museum, Imperial War Museum North, The Lowry etc. Her sequence of large paintings 'the Stations of the Cross\the Captive Figure' have been shown at many of the Cathedrals throughout the UK.

I show at various galleries and a permanent collection of my work is exhibited at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Manchester, co-curated by the renowned artist and film makers Al and Al. 

 

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork  

 

The motif of parent and and child is a constant theme in my work. I made these two postcard paintings -- memories of early works - depicting myself and our son Max with great pleasure. He has recently become a parent for the first time.  

 

PLEASE DO NOT BID ON ARTWORK IN OUR ART ON A POSTCARD AUCTIONS IF YOU INTEND ON SELLING THE ARTWORK AFTER YOU HAVE PURCHASED IT. THIS AUCTION HAS BEEN ORGANISED FOR CHARITY AND ALL ARTWORKS HAVE BEEN GENEROUSLY DONATED BY THE ARTISTS TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE HEPATITIS C TRUST. WHEN THE WORK PRODUCED FOR THE CHARITY IS SOLD ON THE SECONDARY MARKET IT DAMAGES OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ARTIST AND PREVENTS US FROM FUNDRAISING.
