Notes

“I am interested in the overload of information, working on a series of intimate self-portraits made with bright colours and vivid patterns, placing myself in a vibrating space filled with pattern. I find it liberating to be in control of painting an image of myself, during a time where everything feels very out of control. I make my own paint, viewing my body and the pattern I am encompassed in as a landscape/‘patternscape’. These work are ambiguous, but with something left for you to hold onto/live in. Thinking about misprints, out-of-synch, dystopian distortion, Alice in Wonderland and form and formlessness” - Hannah Tilson, 2021

Hannah Tilson (b. 1995) is based in London.
