Notes

Remembering an earlier painting from 2016 by the same name, this painting is a response to open moorland, larksong, spring light and clouds. It speaks of the physical sensation of air both inhaled by the lungs and pressing against ones skin and face in the form of wind. It describes something of the giddyness of walking up hills to find oneself then at the top, looking out.

This painting is on top of an earlier painting. The earlier painting was titled Late April, Thinking of May.  The first painting was destroyed and the surface reworked to become the painting you now see. On the back you can see the earlier title crossed out.
