Untitled (Gridwash RBY) describes the artist's journey through an urban landscape, specifically New Cross and South Bermondsey, London.

The primary colours of the grid-like structure are overlaid with a soft painterly white wash.

Diana Palmer’s paintings address the relationship between a figure and its environment. Recent works depict dancing plants or people, morphing into, or emerging from, a landscape. Conveying movement, the pieces capture observed and abstracted fragments of light, atmospheric changes or physical gestures.

Diana likes to work with a vertical “portrait” canvas, as this shape relates to her standing body. Whether inspired by a memory of a place or a photograph, the process of painting is a playful interpretation of spatial relations. Performing figures may be visible, or else the artist' perception of her surroundings may be the sole subject matter.

Diana Palmer graduated from Camberwell College of Arts. She was artist in residence at Trélex, Switzerland, in April 2018. Her work has been shown in the UK, Greece and Germany and is held in several private collections in the UK, US, Italy and Uganda.
Exhibitions include: Element.Void, The Icing Room, London 2019, Grow, Flow (solo show), Deptford Does Art Gallery, London 2018, Light and Structure, Deptford X Fringe 2017, Fragments Together (solo show), Peckham Pelican, London 2013.
