Notes

The vibrant candy colours of this screenprint belie the darker symbolism of a rope that hangs loosely within the framework.

The snaking and looping rope is subtly embossed in to the paper, contrasting with the flat geometric panels of colour. Liam Richardson's work is precise and clean whilst also allowing for, and celebrating, the natural variations involved in the process of screen printing by hand.

Trained a sculptor, Scottish artist Liam Richardson now works predominantly in print. He has honed the technique to create work that can be characterised by pastel colours, gestural drawing and mark making and a distinctive printerly aesthetic.

Liam is frequently commissioned by the music industry, including work for independent record labels and printing posters for events at clubs including The Pickle Factory in Bethnal Green.
