Notes

This work forms part of a series that takes the viewer on a journey through the hallowed halls of The Tate's Clore Gallery.

Scientist Brian Parker has been experimenting with painting for over 30 years.  Fascinated by both the colour palette and the pattern created by the interior of The Tate, Brian felt compelled to replicate that same feeling in this painting.

Brian's first foray into the creative arts came via the medium of ceramics, however the deep-rooted desire to paint was always ever-present and his sense of pattern and volume only grew as he moved into painting.

A precise and accurate painter, Brian has embarked on a search for the beauty found in the 'perfect' line, a detail he maintains as necessary to convey his personal view of composition.

This painting was a finalist in the Sunday Times Watercolour Exhibition 2018.
