Conversation is a moment in time captured by the award winning artists, Eleanor Watson.
"I’ve always been interested in interiors ever since I played with dollhouses as a child. Interiors are a complex thing, primarily they house you but obviously we have more rooms than we need and the decoration, furniture, objects are all a projection onto space of your personality, your choices, your social standing - all of those things. And they can shelter you and keep you from the outside world. I think the reason they appeal so much to me is the hope of creating a psychological, contemplative space, a place that you kind of explore in your mind without literally entering into - it’s an illusion, an imaginative space."
Eleanor Watson has won the Jonathan Vickers Fine Art Award, the Hans Brinker Student Prize and a Scholarship for The Royal Drawing School. She has been shortlisted for the Jerwood Painting Fellowship, The Young Masters Art Prize and the Future Map Prize.
Eleanor's artwork has been exhibited in London, Amsterdam, New York and Miami, including a solo show, Dear Reader, at Derby Museum and Art Gallery in 2017.
Eleanor was part of The Roya Drawing School - The Drawing Year 2016, and graduated with a first class honours from Wimbledon College of Art in 2012. She is currently completing a Masters at City and Guilds of London Art School.
