Jack Penny applies a 'draw first - think later' approach to his work, that builds on his intuitive understanding of colour and composition.
The result is work that appeals to our senses that is bristling with colour combinations and an irresistible immediacy.
The Chichester-born artist is influenced by 1980's New York Neo Expressionists, particularly Willem de Kooning and takes contemporary inspiration from the vitality of musician Nick Cave.
Jack Penny lives and works in his tree-house-like studio in Bosham, West Sussex.
Jack Penny is currently exhibiting at SinSin Gallery in Hong Kong. In 2017 he held his first solo show in London with India Dickinson at 10 White Horse Street. He has worked with the Dot Project, Cob Gallery and has exhibition in Berlin. He has been interviewed for LOVE Magazine and Artsy.
