Whit Forrester (United States, b. 1983) Uncontrollable Smile / Forced
Whit Forrester is a multi-disciplinary artist working with ideas of the self and its various relationships to the material and spiritual worlds. Forrester arranges and photographs houseplants in his studio and paints and collages layers into his arrangements to elevate commonplace objects into something energetically charged or divine.
Whit Forrester completed their BA in Environmental Studies from Oberlin College and MFA in Photography from Columbia College (2017). Their work has been included in exhibitions at the Hyde Park Art Center, IL (2020, 2015); the DePaul Art Museum, Chicago (2019); Schneider Gallery, IL (2019); Trestle Projects, NY (2017); Filter Gallery, IL (2017, 2016); and Evolving Gallery, Louisville (2016, 2015).
