‘Wealth is relative. The wealthy can only recognise their own wealth by comparing themselves with those who are poorer. This gives them a sense of achievement and personal success however undeserved. It also allows them to bolster a sense of moral virtue by donating to charities aimed at the poor.’

Notes
This original piece was created by Heath Kane, with contributing words by Gill.
Richer Than is a visual conversation in response to the rising rates of homelessness and poverty in the UK. The collection is an extension of Heath Kane's bestselling series Rich Enough to be Batman. Bold and subversive, the collection provokes questions about wealth and social contribution The Queen is used throughout the collection as a symbol of wealth, and is juxtaposed with the cowl of Batman. The cowl represents Batman’s role in doing good: he wasn’t superhuman, but instead his superpower was to use his wealth to give back to society.
"I hope the Richer Than exhibition raises questions about the current wealth divide. I want to encourage conversations about wealth and social justice through the idea that with enough money anyone can be a superhero.” Heath Kane.
