Suzie Silk's work combines various photographic practices, including pinhole photography and cyanotypes, to explore themes around identity. Her work is inspired and in response to her own personal experiences as a woman, and from broader observations about society, culture, language, history, art and literature.

'Bird' is the first in a series of a larger project titled 'Animal' that looks at derogatory language used about and around women, and seeks to reclaim the words through satirical narratives and characters.
