Studio Sale | Andrew Hardy (1/27)

Notes

This is one of a series of circle paintings on plywood, canvas and other surfaces made in 2019 inspired by mid 20th century abstract modernist painters.

Andrew says of his work, "I try to make paintings that draw viewers in, to question and enjoy their materiality. I don’t feel a need to paint scenes, situations or likenesses of people. I don’t feel any urge to depict things or tell stories or make statements. The works don't usually have any meaning although I do aim for them to be meaningful… which is a different thing.”
