Charlotte Brisland's paintings often have a sense of the uncanny about them. A mysterious building emerges out of a lushly painted scene at a strange time of day. The quality of her painting makes you want to step inside the scene but the eerie narrative makes you glad you are just an onlooker. These compulsive scenes are both fascinating and beguiling. 

Accolades
Charlotte Brisland graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2004 and has exhibited in London, New York, Japan and Berlin. Her paintings appear in museums and private collections and have won several awards including the category award for landscape painting in the Jackson's painting prize 2018. The paintings were recently featured in Create magazine's all women's issue May 2019, selected from female artists from around the globe.
