Sculpture, photography and printmaking come together to create a work that is both familiar and slightly surreal.

Ines Fernandez de Cordova, originally from Bolivia and based in London, sculpts objects that are reminiscent of traditional still lives without being too descriptive. The objects are carefully composed so that a conversation is created between the objects and the light which is cast upon them. Photography is the perfect medium to capture the light and the shade that falls between and on the sculptures. This image is then transferred fastidiously through the etching process on to a metal plate which is inked up and finally transferred to paper via the printing press. The resulting image is a textural, tonal rich work which attests to the slow and lengthy working process and is a beautiful and quiet meditation on still life.
