Kelvin Okafor creates hyperreal, pencil on paper portraits. Described as 'Emotional Realism', Okafor aims to provoke an emotional response in his viewers. A sense of reflection, stillness and awareness emerges from his drawings.

Okafor says of this work, "There is light beyond the surface of our eyes. A light which radiates and has a depth which becomes portals to the realm of the soul. I’ve always been particularly fascinated with eyes. The model in this drawing is of a dear friend. His eyes for me express an honesty and a sensitivity - a reflection of the very expression 'windows to the soul'."

Kelvin Okafor completed a Foundation course in Art & Design at City & Guilds Art School and a B.A. in Fine Art from Middlesex University.
