Chris Burns on ‘Children of Eternal Misfortune’: ‘Using the children’s nursery rhyme ‘Jack and Jill’ as a metaphor for a contemporary dilemma, the protagonists of this tale are trapped within the story, forever to repeat their misfortune. My own rendition of “She’ll be coming round the mountain…”’
Currently studying at the Turps Banana School of Art, he says ‘I like to follow an invisible thread that sometimes shows itself in a certain light, where it leads me I never know.’

Chris Burns holds his BA, Fine Art, Painting, Leeds Polytechnic, 1990. Additional studies: Fine Art, Painting, Brighton University, 1987, and Foundation Art, Wakefield Tech, 1986. Special projects include Hauser and Wirth ‘David Hume Consumed’ Philosophy Room, Fife Arms Hotel, Braemar, Scotland, 2018.
