Notes
I live in the depths of the countryside and during isolation each day I would take a camera and be inspired by the avenue of trees we planted and nature. I made this painting during Autumn with Italian tempera, enabling me to work up the surface.
The joy of Autumn, isolation, quietness other than the rustling of leaves and my dog. Leaves falling with the dappling of sunlight, I wanted to capture this moment in time with egg tempera. Using this medium I have found a way to build up the surface and like magic shapes appear under each layer. I enjoy going to the British museum and looking at the Rosetti stone and the marks on the Assyrian Gates, fascinating how a person has left their mark. |
