I live in the depths of the countryside and during isolation each day I would take a camera and be inspired by the avenue of trees we planted and nature. I made this painting during Autumn with Italian tempera, enabling me to work up the surface.
| The joy of Autumn, isolation, quietness other than the rustling of leaves and my dog. Leaves falling with the dappling of sunlight, I wanted to capture this moment in time with egg tempera. Using this medium I have found a way to build up the surface and like magic shapes appear under each layer. I enjoy going to the British museum and looking at the Rosetti stone and the marks on the Assyrian Gates, fascinating how a person has left their mark. |
