Dixon sees paintings everywhere, but is especially endeared by practical paintings like those in the mesh suspended between scaffolding posts or utility markings that litter city roads, slapdash in appearance but perhaps the most important markings in an urban setting, noting 'gas line here', 'water main below' or 'pothole' (Text by Olivia Rumsey).

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork  

The paintings I make I have found in the past to be difficult to translate into drawings. In the past few months, I have been thinking about how elements of collage (using fabric and paper) function more closely to my paintings. The works I have produced for AOAP are presently informing the work I am making in the studio.
