Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
Artemisia Gentileschis Mary Magdelene sits amongst the wares of a small town Ohio antiques hall. Olivia has played with historical paintings and contemporary settings since her solo exhibition "Fieldwork" in 2020 inspired by the Museo del Prado collection, shown in both London and Madrid. This playful approach to choices of subject and historical references has been a thread in her work since then, returned to repeatedly for both serious and humorous themes.
