About
Han Han is a London-based artist. After a decade-long career as a fashion designer, she decided to pursue her true passion for painting in 2019. Driven by her deep fascination with people, her work primarily focuses on portraiture. One of the prominent themes in Han's work is the exploration of identity, a topic of personal significance to her due to her Chinese heritage and her life in the UK. Through her work, she wishes to explore the intricate layers of identity, such as cultural background, social influences, and personal experiences - shaping one's sense of self.

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
These two works are part of my Selfie series, a collection of portrait studies painted from strangers' selfie photos. Selfies are a deliberate portrayal of how individuals want to be seen. As a painter, I translate my observations and emotions onto the canvas, but as a viewer, your interpretation is uniquely shaped by your life experiences. Who you see in the painting is a personal and subjective reflection of your unique perspective on identity and self-presentation.
You must not reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit any works. In doing so, you endanger our relationships with artists, and directly jeopardise the charitable work we do.
