Art on a Postcard International Women’s Day Auction - Curated by Women in Art
27 FEBRUARY 2024 - 12 MARCH 2024Notes
About
I am a contemporary portrait and figurative artist based in London. I belong to a collection of artists called ‘Studio Fridays’ who have a studio space in Whetstone, Barnet. My main focus and passion are painting portraits that convey either a story or emotion hidden in the expression or pose of the sitter. I am currently painting a series of self portraits documenting my seven year struggle with the Menopause before starting HRT In 2022 I was selected to appear on Portrait Artist of the Year, which was an incredible experience and one that solidified my desire to become a professional artist.
Education
I graduated at Stourbridge College of Art with a degree in Fine Art.
Select Exhibitions/Awards
In 2023 I was selected to exhibit at the Roundhouse London as part of the Women in Art prize where I was awarded the People’s Choice Prize. My work was also selected to be exhibited at the Mall Galleries London as part of the Women in Art Fair. My work has been featured in various magazines and publications.

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
I have submitted two self portraits for the auction. 'Still Waiting to...' (Oil paint on Card) is a painting related to my experience of lockdown and the frustration I felt waiting for life to get back to normal. 'Menopause No Sleep' (Pen and Ink on Card) is a drawing based on the painting of the same name that represents the terrible insomnia I experienced for seven years before starting HRT.
