About 

British artist Shane Bradford (n. 1971) has established an international presence as a paint-based multi-media artist and maker, living and working in London.  

Bradford engages with materials as a means to reflect upon wider socio-political issues, developing bespoke techniques of application which often interconnect with topical contemporary dialogues. Bradford’s practice broadens to incorporate large-scale painting, installation and sculpture.  

Since winning the Celeste Painting Prize, London in 2007, Bradford has gone on to exhibit and attend residencies worldwide. In 2019-20 he was a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Awardee.  

In 2020 Bradford established Assembly Line, an artist-led platform for the exploration and production of unique limited edition art multiples.

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork 

Recent works have evolved via a method of ‘mono-painting’ with found objects. By printing with obsolete materials an abstract form of urban vernacular is isolated and expanded. In this way the visual language of the city is seen afresh.
