About
Evan Trine is a photographer and fine artist living in Los Angeles. His work varies in style, but consistently challenges our perception of what a photograph is or what a photograph can be. He regularly uses the mechanisms of photography - camera, ink, printer, paper - to push the boundaries of traditional photography into areas of abstraction.

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
This work is from a series that I refer to as "ink swaps" - this is a process I developed over a few years, after much trial and error. The basic principle is that I rearrange the ink cartridges in my large format printer - black in place of magenta, photo-cyan in place of yellow, light grey in place of photo-magenta, etc. In the end, the printer and computer are convinced they are producing an accurate image, but my intervention creates an alternate universe. Over time, the inks bleed together in the printer and create inherently unique works that cannot be reproduced. Each piece, regardless of the imagery, is slightly different than the next.
PLEASE DO NOT BID ON ARTWORK IN OUR ART ON A POSTCARD AUCTIONS IF YOU INTEND ON SELLING THE ARTWORK AFTER YOU HAVE PURCHASED IT. THIS AUCTION HAS BEEN ORGANISED FOR CHARITY AND ALL ARTWORKS HAVE BEEN GENEROUSLY DONATED BY THE ARTISTS TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE HEPATITIS C TRUST. WHEN THE WORK PRODUCED FOR THE CHARITY IS SOLD ON THE SECONDARY MARKET IT DAMAGES OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ARTIST AND PREVENTS US FROM FUNDRAISING.
