Art on a Postcard Winter Auction, Lots 101-200
04 NOVEMBER 2021 - 25 NOVEMBER 2021Notes
About
Faye Eleanor Woods is a Scottish artist working in Manchester. Wood's work features joyous albeit grotesque figures: they smoke, cry, piss and even ride snails. Working with raw pigments, Woods creates thin watery washes that are layered on canvas to create obnoxious and crass scenes. As crass as these paintings may seem, they draw from a much deeper subject matter. One about grief, loss and how she navigates and processes being alive. The paintings are frank about how the artists experiences life, and intimately show her inner world.
