Art on a Postcard Winter Auction, Lots 301-400
04 NOVEMBER 2021 - 25 NOVEMBER 2021Notes
About
Carl is an artist based in the UK
Carl makes work which sits on the fine line between comedy and tragedy with a pinch of the absurd and blended with irony.
He uses digital collage as a medium and works on projects rather than an overall signature style. He likes to take an idea or theme and build a body of work around it. His long running body of work, titled Animals Pretending to be Other Animals has proven very popular and sold out a number of editions to places all around the world.
“The most important thing in my work is the viewer and their reactions to it. I consider it a success when their initial response is either liking or disliking it but then their perception shifts and they see that there is a twist to the story. That the picture subject has a subverted meaning. It’s also important to me to keep humour and lightness in my work as it isn’t about me, it’s about the mediated world and most importantly I want the work to be enjoyed.”

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
For this years AOAP I have chosen to revisit my Ice Cream Project and mix up some pop sci-fi and space travel for the knickerbocker glory of AOAP Winter Auction 2021.
PLEASE DO NOT BID ON ARTWORK IN OUR ART ON A POSTCARD AUCTIONS IF YOU INTEND ON SELLING THE ARTWORK AFTER YOU HAVE PURCHASED IT. THIS AUCTION HAS BEEN ORGANISED FOR CHARITY AND ALL ARTWORKS HAVE BEEN GENEROUSLY DONATED BY THE ARTISTS TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE HEPATITIS C TRUST. WHEN THE WORK PRODUCED FOR THE CHARITY IS SOLD ON THE SECONDARY MARKET IT DAMAGES OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ARTIST AND PREVENTS US FROM FUNDRAISING.
