Art on a Postcard Winter Auction, Lots 401-520
04 NOVEMBER 2021 - 25 NOVEMBER 2021Notes
About
Suzanne focuses on figurative painting exploring the plurality of life experiences. Sourcing found pictures, or taking her own photographs, she intuitively selects those which suggest poignant open narratives.
She seeks to unspool her thoughts and emotions, but also insinuate narratives that allow multiple interpretations to the viewer. Suzanne is often drawn to depicting situations of extreme exertion, representing the existential forces we have to deal with, with all their drama but also their potential.
Water, and more specifically the swimming pool, are a favourite theme, exploring the dynamics of life’s complex forces and emotions. The contained space of the swimming pool is a weightless world where the chaos of existence can be safely examined and managed.
