Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork

Both works were drawings made from old movie stills. I made them reflectively post Covid, thinking about feelings of fragility, anxiety, love and support during the lockdown period. 'It's like a Bubble That's Going to burst' is a play on words. In its original context it was about a couple being so happy, but at any point this happiness could burst. The bubble could also refer to the Covid Bubbles we had to keep and how at any moment the situation could change. 'Care' depicts the loving gesture of stroking someone's hair whilst they are asleep, but the floating hand also looks removed from any figure, is the person really beside the or is it a dream?
