Art on a Postcard x St Wilfrid's Hospice: The Postcards II
14 SEPTEMBER 2023 - 03 OCTOBER 2023Notes
About
Contemporary artist exploring memories, observations and experiences through the subject of still life. The objects selected are ‘moved’ around the canvas leaving traces of embossed lines, patterns and textures. A strong interest in the abstract quality of painting is evident. Many layers of paint are added and areas scraped back until the final painting is resolved. The forms and shapes are emphasised with flattened perspective and a naive distortion of the objects.

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
The paintings are a naive and abstracted response to the simple subject of collected flowers and cups. I have used a natural palette with muted tones and expressive textures.
