Martin Langford is an artist-printmaker. Having graduated with a Fine Art degree from Plymouth University, he went on to do a Masters at Central St Martin’s College of Art, under the tutorage of the late David Gluck RE, who first introduced Martin to mezzotint engraving and challenged him to take it up.
Martin now works using the etching technique and more recently lino. Martin’s work tends tends to reflect social commentary – the cities we live and work in, the whole work and wealth generating ethic and human nature. His ideas also convey my concern for the environment.
Martin is the winner of over 20 printmaking awards and his work has been selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition a total of 15 times. He is a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers since 1996 and part of the artist collaborative Southbank Printmakers.
