Bigger Pleasures
22 APRIL 2021 - 13 MAY 2021Notes
The painting ‘Eels’ is inspired by ghost stories about Walthamstow marshes, Mclean has spent a lot of time around because she lives on a canal boat in London.
Lindsey McLean is currently in her final year of her MFA at Slade School of Art. Previously she studied on the Drawing Year at the Royal Drawing school (2013-2014) and Glasgow School of art (2009-2013.) Her paintings are usually about the imagery of femininity and women and how it has been represented historically. Mclean is looking for her own expression of what femininity means to her and by examining her own conflicted relationship with it.
