Ceramics & Craft Studio Sale 2023 | Carla Murdoch

This sculpture was made to loosen up from the repetition of throwing on the wheel. When glazing these pieces she explores glaze application with pouring, brushing and sponging. Using quick movements to complete the pieces and capture the energy of the moment.

Carla works as a full time production potter, Working from her garden studio, designing and throwing tableware. Carla’s collections can be found in restaurants and shops around the uk, as well as her online shop.

Education: BA hons in Glass and Ceramics, University of Sunderland 2007-2010

Carla worked as a Pottery and Sculpture Tutor at Lichfield College, leaving the role in 2018 after securing a space on the Yorkshire Artspace Ceramic starter programme. Here she gained business knowledge and support through mentors Pottery West, in 2019 joining their production studio as an assistant.

Carla received Arts council funding
