Notes: From an ongoing series of Bunker drawings. These are imagined architectural hideouts designed to be built in outskirts of cities, forests, and woodland spaces. Each Bunker drawing in the series is charcoal and ink on paper, drawn onto 42.5 x 33.5 cartridge paper.
James Jessiman is an artist who lives and works in London. His works carry a common dialogue of the alien, the strange and the unknown. He graduated from Kingston University Illustration BA where he now teaches, and later from the Royal College of Art in 2017 with a MA in Printmaking. Recent exhibitions include 24 Bells For The Radio - Open Plan / South London Gallery, Like A Sieve, Kupfer, London 2020, LS GOMMA 072 Pavilion Pavilion, Glasgow 2019. Upcoming shows include a double show with Swiss painter Diane Chappalley, Barbican Arts Group Trust, 29th July, and selected works and artefacts exhibited alongside the launch of Luke Overin’s new title ‘Lizard Point 99’ published by Bronze Age editions, showing at Reference Point 180 The Strand on the 30th July.
