Life on Venus II | The Human, Live Auction

The images I choose to paint come to me at night, as vivid compositions projecting themselves behind my eyelids. The next day, I must put them down on paper, and I trust that the topic of these images naturally follows my interests and readings : the exploration of paint and images is the primary subject of my work.

I am very influenced by movements that blur the line between men and nature, from 19th century romanticism to nowadays anthropocenic studies. I am also fascinated by images that come from a state of trance, between awakening and sleep, by colours and ‘cangiante’, by the process of fermentation... Overall, I try to explore the thin line that brings together opposite entities, the fine point of transition between transformative processes and finished states of being.
