Life on Venus III | The Organic, Timed Auction
08 FEBRUARY 2021 - 26 FEBRUARY 2021Notes
Working directly in paint, without preliminary sketches, Crimson’s paintings develop through a reciprocal process; a call and response between the artist and the painting.
Time to drift and reflect are crucial to the process, nothing is planned. The emerging paintings are an investigation into visual thinking; a non literal space.
The mind battles with itself as imagery comes in and out of focus, the hand trying to fix the elusive imagery. Mixed emotions and memories emerge, creating tension; paradoxical, child like, absurd, tender.
Working with the visual imagination allows the artist freedom to explore imagined time and space, creating a rich and surprising practice.
