More Heed - Timed Auction
31 AUGUST 2021 - 15 SEPTEMBER 2021Notes
A consideration for nature and people lies at the heart of Mari's creative process. Through stylized, patterned and brightly coloured human figures, she attempts to explore the damaging effects of man on the endangered earth.
Mari's style draws inspiration from radical oppositions in art, and the idea that our culturally shared images are vital to our perception of environmental, cultural and social interaction. She is interested in pattern and detail as a way to draw the viewer in, and with this highlight the often overlooked infinite detail of our surroundings.
Mari went to the University of Brighton to study Fine Art Printmaking, before further studies of Drawing and Applied Arts at University of West England. She currently lives and works in her hometown of Oslo.
