“Wren’s performance is astounding. Replay [is] an important, unusual, and extremely satisfying work.” Theatre is Easy

Named as a 'talent to watch' by the Guardian, Nicola Wren performed Replay to a sold-out run at Edinburgh Fringe in 2017. An intimate, moving, ultimately uplifting monologue, Replay tells the story of a policewoman who finds herself on the street where her brother once lived, propelling her back to a childhood (and a way of seeing the world), and making her confront his tragic suicide once more.

This is a play of heart, honesty and humour, and the annotations match that to a beat. Squiggles, underlinings, amazingly neat, packed-in handwriting makes this a fully annotated lot, with so many stories from the rehearsal room and writing process, and personal reflections.

Perhaps most remarkable is the beautiful letter at the end of the book that Nicola writes to the successful buyer of this lot, which begins: “Thank you for reading Replay with all my ramblings included. I can't imagine who will read this…” and goes on to be incredibly insightful about writing and healing and all good things.
