Yoko Terauch is a sculptor who makes sculptures and installations and visualizes the limitation of human perception by revealing a small part of a much larger, unknown object, which remains unseen.
Born in Tokyo 1954. Studied at Women’s College of Fine Arts, Tokyo, (1973-98), St. Martins School of Art: Postgraduate Advanced Sculpture Course, London (1979-81) Lived and worked in London (1979-1998), then Tokyo (1999- now)
Many exhibitions worldwide include:
Solo shows: Victoria Miro, Chisenhale Gallery, Stadisches Museum Abteiberg Monchengladbach, Toyota Municipal Museum of Art, etc. Group shows :The Sculpture Show ( Hayward Gallery 1983), National Museum Singapore, Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, etc
