‘I think I’d be a great rich person. I wouldn’t need Jeff Bezos money. Just enough that I could sneakily pay for peoples meals and have no one know it was me. Buy toys put on layaway so when parents pick them up it’s already been paid for. Pay for my groceries and then pay for the next few behind me. I would love this! I’m sure they would too. And I wouldn’t care who I did it for or what they were buying. I would just do it everywhere I went and no one would know it was me. One day.’

Notes
This original piece was created by Heath Kane, with contributing words by Melissa Lane.
Richer Than is a visual conversation in response to the rising rates of homelessness and poverty in the UK. The collection is an extension of Heath Kane's bestselling series Rich Enough to be Batman. Bold and subversive, the collection provokes questions about wealth and social contribution The Queen is used throughout the collection as a symbol of wealth, and is juxtaposed with the cowl of Batman. The cowl represents Batman’s role in doing good: he wasn’t superhuman, but instead his superpower was to use his wealth to give back to society.
"I hope the Richer Than exhibition raises questions about the current wealth divide. I want to encourage conversations about wealth and social justice through the idea that with enough money anyone can be a superhero.” Heath Kane.
