Notes
The Old Man & The Sea is a limited edition print by Tom Berry, the London artist and illustrator. The title takes its name from the 1952 Cuban short novel by Ernest Hemingway. The novel, won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, and tells the story of Santiago, an ageing Cuban fisherman who struggles with a giant marlin far out in the Gulf Stream off the coast of Cuba.
Playing on the title and the story within the novel, Tom Berry created this print as a tribute to a family friend who dreamed of being the first 'thousand mooner’ (a person in their mid-70s) to sail around the world.
