Sea-Fever
EndedAn auction of artworks inspired by the sea.
Inspired by John Masefield's 1902 poem of the same name (see the full poem here), Sea-Fever consisted of 53 sea-inspired artworks sourced directly from 26 contemporary artists.
After months of scouring the country, we brought together a wide variety of skilled and exciting artists to celebrate how the water around our island continues to stimulate today's creative minds.
Starting bids began at £70 and, as ever, there was 0% buyer's commission. It was a wonderful evening with 150 people joining to support the artists and pick up a work of art for their home. As a result, the bidding battles led to 70% (37) of the artworks being sold and on their way to new owners.
Sea-Fever wouldn't have been possible without the generous support of the auction partners: Oury Clark, Jude's Ice Cream, Dorset Tea, Viet Hoa and The Jaguar Shoes Collective. To hear more about their work and how they supported, see the Making A Night Of It and Partners' pages.
Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved!
