Studio Sale | Iain H Williams
26 JUNE 2022 - 11 JULY 2022, Ended 03:00 PM (UK time)A Studio Sale of works of art direct from the studio of artist Iain Williams.
Iain has steadily been making waves within the North of England and contributing to various shows and exhibitions along with the recent completion of a solo exhibition at the Haworth Art Gallery, Accrington.
Iain has created his bold visual language and motifs referencing urban links and contemporary imagery, whilst exploring the abstract image and mark-making within an expressionistic form.
His work moves between large scale raw canvas and works on paper combining textures, energetic marks and a deft use of colour, sometimes restrained, other times unrestricted and primal.
The most recent body of works have seen Iain exploring the use of negative space within his paintings to explore a more minimal sense of composition and dynamic.
Working with the likes of Universal Tomorrow (Manchester), The Artistry House (Preston), Atlantic Contemporary Art Ltd (Ribble Valley) and the Haworth Art Gallery, Accrington, Iain has established himself as one of the North’s prolific contemporary painters.
As part of his latest solo exhibition ‘/di’stil’ at the Hawarth Art Gallery, Iain was featured in focus as part of Creative Lancashire’s latest edition of ‘Conversations in Creativity’ which saw him in talks with the musician and journalist, John Robb.
Artworks have also been exhibited at the newly opened UNITOM arts venue, Manchester and the Harris Museum & Art Gallery/Preston. He has also consistently taken part in the Manchester Art Fair and was the first artist residency at Ducie Street Warehouse, Manchester in their new series of their specially curated artist led displays in collaboration with Universal Tomorrow.
A unique large scale triptych painting was specially commissioned for the Preston Live 2021 Festival and exhibited as part of the Preston Awakens exhibition at the Harris Museum & Art Gallery.
Part of the critically acclaimed ‘A YEAR OUTDOORS’ project in 2018/2019, alongside luminaries such as Ralph Steadman and some of Bristol’s finest talents, Will Barras, Lucas Antics and Danny Capozzi.
Iain lives and works in Lancashire, United Kingdom.
