Notes
Drawing from a series An Infinite Raft (or) A Constant Desire to Look for a Side Door created in 2022.
The series which is the most recent body of work by Karolina is packed full of emotion and expression drawing from observations and experiences of an inexhaustible multitude of things, captured from all perspectives. Top to bottom, front to back, external to internal - she explores all that surrounds her with an unique and shifting view. From Surfaces bearing signs of use or purpose scaling down through physical and imagined layers to uncover an altogether more emotional landscape underneath it all.
Karolina Glusiec is a multidisciplinary artist based in Deptford, south-east London, whose practice emerges from drawing and animation branching out into mixed media, structural and site specific objects and artworks. She is a prolific drawer, viewing drawing as a gestural non-verbal way of communication.
Her artworks are often inspired by the most overlooked and unimportant, imperfect and ever too obvious to be noticed everyday life man-made surfaces and by human emotions often hidden beneath other layers of feelings that are shown to cover them.
