Swim for Dave - English Channel Swim

The Background
Around 18-21st August 2022 (depending on the tides and weather) we will set off as a 4-man relay team to swim from England to France, raising funds to support Aspire. 

Having been training for nearly a year, we aim to make the crossing in 12-15 hours whilst navigating the world's busiest shipping lanes, strong tidal currents and dodging jellyfish, in water as cold as 10c.

Every 4 hours someone is paralysed with a Spinal Cord injury - this auction will raise vital funds for Aspire, who provide unrivalled help to those who have been paralysed.

About Dave
In Memory of David Reid-Scott - June 5th 1947 - July 11th 2020

This challenge especially personal to us – sadly our team-member Hugo McMullen's stepfather, David Reid Scott, sadly passed away after experiencing a serious spinal cord injury. Despite his sheer determination and the incredible care he received, David passed away on July 11th 2020 aged 73 years.

About the charity Aspire
We are supporting the charity Aspire, a national charity close to our hearts that provides practical help to people who have been paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury. A spinal cord injury can happen to anyone at any time, and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire exists because there is currently no cure. With your kind support we can help people like David overcome their injuries and live a better life.
