Rana Begum was born in Bangladesh in 1977, and lives and works in London. Begum studied at Slade School of Fine Art, and Chelsea College of Art and Design. Her work blurs the boundaries between sculpture, painting and architecture while drawing from the urban landscape as well as geometric patterns from traditional Islamic art and architecture. She has exhibited in solo and group shows globally. 

Folded Grid focuses on texture and colour, giving the impression of light dancing across an undulating landscape. This work blurs the boundary between painting and sculpture, giving the flat form foil a feeling of depth.
