At the early age Marco Sanges started to work at his uncle’s photographic lab and became fascinated by the process of developing and printing black and white photography. Sanges creates photographs in sequence, inspired by the black and white films of the silent era. Every sequence tells a unique, multi-layered story, creating a highly personal, imaginary cinema. Larger than life characters and lavish costume are reminiscent of surrealism and the visual and performing arts of the 1920s and 30s as he sets the scene, as a scene in a film unfolds a story.

He has exhibited worldwide and published extensively with clients including Agent Provocateur, Cutler & Gross, Vogue, Dolce&Gabbana and Harpers Bazar.
