Notes
The early morning sun thaws this quiet scene of a disused rail track in the south of Poland.
It is this specific time of day which the artist finds enchanting; "the rufescent light burning into the blue frost of a morning" captured here during an early walk through the town of Mikolow, in Silesia. The rusting rail tracks recede into the rising mist, drawing the viewer into a scene that suggests a journey and the possibilities of a new day.
Characteristic of Marc's work are scenes that appear both elegant and desolate. Marc sites the redolence of a room, a remote landscape, or the multi layering of the city as his chosen subjects.
Marc's work has led him to travel widely and spend extended periods of time in Rome, Detroit, New York, Warsaw and Paris.
